Backups
Tilaa offers a managed backup service based on rsnapshot. Your data are stored for up to two months. Tilaa makes backups of your files at the following intervals:
- 1 backup per hour of the past day (24 backups)
- 1 backup per day of the past week (7 backups)
- 1 backup per week of the past month (4 backups)
- 1 backup per month of the past 2 months (2 backups)
Tilaa can make backups at the same location (on-site) or at another location (off-site). For backups at a second location, you pay slightly more due to the network costs associated with transporting your data to the remote location.
Tilaa monitors your backups and takes action if backups unexpectedly stop or if your backup space has reached the maximum capacity.
Rates
Managed backups are priced as follows (per month):

If you would like Tilaa to back up your server, you can request this by email.
In your email, please specify the following:
- Which server(s) would you like to back up?
- Do you prefer on-site or off-site backups?
- How much backup space do you need? (Tilaa recommends a minimum of 200% of the space assigned to your server.)
- Are there data that you do not want to include in the backup?
Managed server pack
If desired, you can have Tilaa perform your server maintenance. Tilaa will then install the necessary software updates. The server pack includes 30 minutes of system management. You can order the managed server pack using the server configurator.
High availability NFS storage
With the Tilaa high availability NFS cluster, you have access to a reliable and fast method of dividing your files among multiple servers, to obtain more storage capacity or to increase the I/O performance of your VPS.
- Reliable: The cluster consists of two nodes that can take over each other’s tasks. This allows Tilaa to offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee for the availability of the storage cluster.
- High performance: In addition to excellent reliability, the NFS storage cluster offers exceptional performance. By using SSDs to cache read and write operations, a very high number of I/O operations per second can be achieved.
- Completely redundant: The underlying storage network is fully redundant, and physically separated from our Internet infrastructure. The network is optimised for storage traffic through the use of Jumbo frames.
- 10Gbit bandwidth: The storage cluster has 10Gbit bandwidth. All our virtualisation servers are connected to this storage network using redundant and physically separated connections in order to guarantee low latencies and high transit speeds to the NFS cluster.
Rates
You pay € 0.65 per allocated GB on the cluster. This price includes unlimited data traffic on the storage network. The minimum purchase amount is 10 GB.
